EP 52: Ultimate Query Checklist
TRANSCRIPT
In the last few videos, I discussed the process of querying agents. Here is just a quick summary for you…
First, and probably most obvious, you want to perfect your manuscript and the entire submission package, including your query letter, synopsis, one-sentence pitch and everything else that goes into that.
Second, you want to query only the right agents for your story. And mostly this means agents that accept picture book manuscripts.
And finally, before submitting to any agents, you just want to vet them to make sure that they are legit.
And as you know having an agent doesn’t guarantee your manuscript is going to get published, but it opens up the opportunity to query the big publishing companies and takes the submission burden off of you. Best of all though, it puts someone in your corner who understands the publishing industry and is supportive of your career.
Thanks for watching. If you got any value out of this video, like it, subscribe to my channel and share the video with other aspiring picture book authors.
