EP 63: Picture Book Dreams into Reality
TRANSCRIPT
The Unstoppable Author Goal that I spoke about in previous videos is just so essential to helping you become a published author that I wanted to go over it just one last time.
Goals demand action. Otherwise, they're just wishes. To give your goal of becoming a published author the best odds possible, follow the Unstoppable Author Goal, which is to write and have on submission 6 manuscripts every year, breaking down every two-month chunk this way:
First, weeks 1-3: Write and refine your manuscript on your own.
Second, weeks 4-5: Work with a critique partner or paid editor to perfect your manuscript.
Three, weeks 6-7: Write and refine your query letter, synopsis and pitch, as well as gathering up your comparable books.
And finally, week 8: Query agents first, and then query publishers.
It may seem like a lot, I get it. I really do. But you can do it.
